The Poetics

"Art band" formada pelo Mike Kelley e Tony Oursler enquanto estudantes da CalArts, originalmente com outra formacao e experimentando com comedia de aderecos e performances genero Bauhaus. 

 "In this early working progress Mike and I discovered that we shared amongst other things, a love for the ex-catholic experience in all its mystical, sexual, and angst ridden designs. And formally the organ seemed best to evoke the drama, ritual, incense, and bended knee."

Mike Kelley adiciona ainda em relacao as semelhancas entre os dois que "had spent a good part of our youths in mass sniffing incense and listening to death-lyrics accompanied by organ music"
